We all know that exercise is great for our bodies, but did you know that it's great for your hair too?
Exercise helps reduce stress. When you're stressed, your body produces cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone. Changes in hormone levels cause hair loss. Yuk!
In order for hair to grow, each follicle must receive nutrients and oxygen from our blood vessels. Increasing blood flow and circulation from exercising increases the input of those nutrients and allows hair to grow faster.
Protect your hair when you're exercising. If you sweat a lot, rinse your scalp well to remove any blockage from your hair follicle. If you swim, wear a swim cap to protect hair from chlorine and other chemicals. If you work out outside, don't forget the UV protection for your hair. When you pull your hair back for your workouts, make sure to switch up clips and scrunchies, buns and braids and pony tails and don't use too much tension!
Great information Lori. Thank you for sharing!
