We have all been there. You have a fabulous new haircolor. You love it! You have fixed it in multiple different styles and you are obsessed because every time you look in the mirror you get those tingly feelings.
That's the best feeling isn't it? But then there is a couple weeks later. You walk by a mirror and think, hhhmmm, it's faded into a pretty (blonde, auburn, pink, light brown, green!) Or maybe you take a selfie and oh my goodness there is a grey hair! Conveniently, this grey hair is sticking straight up on the top of your head.
What now?? No matter if you paid $20 for a box color (don't do that!) or you paid $100's of dollars at a salon, this is at the very least inconvenient. Who has the time or money to color their hair every couple weeks? None of us.
So how do we stop it? We look in your bathroom. Yep your bathroom. We have hard water in this part of the country. All we need to do to confirm that is to look at any one thing that uses water. This makes it especially important to be using the correct products.
If you have color treated hair you HAVE TO use Shampoo and Conditioner that is formulated to protect color. This is not an option. Using hard water, harsh shampoo and not babying that color is throwing money and time down the drain.
Most drug store products contain harsh chemicals diluted by water. This includes shampoo, conditioner, treatments, hairsprays, oil based "moisturizing" products, mouse and gels.
I recommend Joico's Kpak Color Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner. You all know how crazy I am about Joico. There is a reason for this. Those of you who have been around know that I haven't always been Joico exclusive. I shopped around and I've tried a lot of products, even professional ones, and Joico is by far and away the winner. Their entire mission is "the joi of healthy hair".
