My 3 Favorite Winter Hobbies

As you all know, hair is my favorite thing. I love learning about it, teaching about it, looking at it, playing with it and everything in between. But I also love other things. I thought I'd share my favorite things to do in winter that don't have anything to do with hair.

  1. Read. I love reading, I always have. I read pretty fast and in the winter I average about a book a day. My favorite authors are Tijan and Sarah J Maas. My favorite series by other authors are The Calendar Girl Series, The Hollows Series, and The Keatyn Chronicles.

  2. Bake. I'm not a great cook and I don't love to do it, but I am a pretty good baker and I enjoy it on a cold, dark day. Baking isn't something you can do on a regular basis and not be more round than tall but in the winter time, I love it! My signature is my chocolate chip cookies and you'll be surprised if you take the time to find out where I got the recipe, but the secret is to use Blue Bonnet:) Here's my recipe if you want to try it!

2/3Cup Blue Bonnet

2/3 Cup Crisco

1 Cup Sugar

1 Cup Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

2 tsp Vanilla

Mix together until smooth then add

1 1/2 Cups Flour

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Salt

Mix until smooth and then add

1 1/2 Cups Flour

Chocolate Chips

Pecans optional

3. Crochet. I don't like making big projects like sweaters or blankets, but I do love to make ear warmers and beanies! Anything I can do in a couple hours while watching tv with a blanket and a dog on my lap:)

Here's to dark days and cold weather and the hope of spring soon!
