what is going on up there?

Happy November ya'll!

Halloween went well this year, it was tons of fun handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters! I'm so happy to live in a town where door to door is still a safe thing to do.

Dry Palm Tree

Jayden and I made a quick trip to Oklahoma to see my brother and his family this weekend. It was a crazy time of family and real life that we needed to refresh our souls. We did fall victim to a stomach bug while we were there and my skin and allergies are night and day between the two areas, which was something I wanted to share with you guys below.

It's not summer anymore! I knew that but I didn't accept it.

The weather is changing, the nights are colder, the leaves are dying and everything is drying out. Have you noticed your skin being dry? Your eyes? Your hair? Maybe your scalp?

Did you think to yourself, well there's that winter dandruff I always get!??!!

If you did, please read this!

Most of the time, dry scalp is usually the culprit, not dandruff.

Here is a simple guide to which is which and what to do about it:

Dry scalp - dry, small white flakes that float down onto your shirt, especially when you scratch. May build up into sores or small clusters if scratching a lot.

Treatment - In salon scalp and conditioning treatment, and at home Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner OR Joico KPAK Shampoo and Conditioner

Dandruff - large, oily flakes that fall out of your hair, more often will need to be slid down the hair shaft. Frequently have oily roots. Not as white. More off white or yellow.

Treatment - shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione (ZPT) or tea tree oil. These are the best options for treating dandruff. Also, try to extend time between shampoo's if at all possible. Giving your body time to treat the issue itself works wonders sometimes.

If you don't know where your itchy scalp is coming from, schedule a free consultation with me, I'd love to help!
